Don&#039;t pursue an advanced degree unless you know for a fact that it&#039;s the ONLY way to increased earnings or a job that you want.

And don&#039;t expect an advanced degree to equal a higher salary.  For example, the starting salary of a post-doc (a PhD level researcher) is on par with the average salary of an associates degree (according to your list).</description>
