I have never understood how cash back credit cards have ever made
money. Maybe it's one of the causes of the credit collapse over the
past year. Or maybe enough customers rack up monthly finance
charges that it more than covers the cost of the cash back rewards.
I use my card just like you, as a way to purchase goods without
having to carry cash around. And to get paid to spend what you are
already buying anyway? Awesome. I use the Citi cash back card, but
that American Express Blue cash card with the 5% return looks
really good.

Well anyway, the other tip I wanted to send along was, if you do online
shopping, use Ebates! This site is awesome, it's like ANOTHER cash
back site ON TOP of using your credit card. All you need to do is
sign up to the site, and you just click a link to your online
retailer (like Bestbuy.com, Target, etc), and they track your
purchases. You get anywhere from 1-5% cash back on your purchase.
So combine your cash back credit card, with Ebates, and you are
getting a pretty good chunk of change back. Ebates is even giving
everyone $5 for signing up right now. Good site!
